Y be ut' Rst To Bs... Ywsmmates One of the hardest experiences college fresh- men ha-ve to face ls the trial of living for a . whole school year with glrls who they may never have seen or even with girls they have known all their lives. Many may not know what their roommates' dislikes and llkes may be while some may even know how many pairs of shoes their roommates have. The first week most roommates are unbelievably sweet to each other. For example, one girl may go out of her way to make sure she does not play the stereo, which the other despises while she is studying. ln turn, the other may remember not to leave her side of the room in a mess, which her roommate detests. Roommates, being new freshmen, cling to each other during the process of learning where English 101 is or what the shortest way is to get from the dorm to the cafeteria. As the year progresses, some may gradually get on each others nerves and not longer tolerate each other's habits, while others may learn to get along with their roomies and even begin to care when they have the blahs or when that long awaited letter finally arrives.
