Well, obviously when a puppeteer won't change the show just because it worked so well for so long , there might be something wrong. The only life these puppets have is determined by the puppeteer, and when he won't allow for changes, he might as well try to stop time. lf the puppeteer really wants to have the best show, it looks like he'd start by letting his puppets improve themselves with a few changes. Maybe you're right. But who knows? Don't tell me- Your Sister! Okay, I know it's just talk to you. But there may be some truth in what she says. l've heard other important people besides my sister say that after a while the novelty of the show does wear off. It seems like every year these people come back, hoping to find a new, or at least modified, show. And NOW what has your sister condemned?

Page 14 text:

Big deal. Somebody has to do it. What good is a pile of wooden arms and legs without someone to give them life? Well, nothing l guess. But my sister says that in this show the main part is played by the puppeteer, not the puppets. Oh, I see now. In other words, here it's not the puppets that make the show, but the show that makes the puppets. But what's so bad about that? Who cares who does what, just so it's good and worth my money! That's the catch. Most of the time the only per- son who thinks the show is good is the puppeteer. Maybe it's okay for some, but as many strings as there are attached to those puppets, there ought to be more than one way to present the show. xi M' ul 3 it ,. 'Q ln n .V E:-4.
