Those annual 'fcoldsl' demand soda and aspirin tablets and that familiar red cough medicine plus a few shots of penicillin. Measles, mumps, and flu patients are nursed carefully and kept at a mini- mum by Dr. WV. H. VVilliams, Jr., M.D., with the assistance of Miss Ruth Hutchinson, Night Nurse, Nlrs. Annie Nl. M c F a d d e n, R.N., and Miss Dorothy Parrish, R.N. Mrs. Bertie M. Sigmon is the superintendent of nurses. The LIBRARY The library is the quietest, yet about the busiest, spot on our campus. Girls have unnumbered reasons for visiting the stacks, the reference room, and all the other sections of the building. In our library is a wealth of newspapers, magazines, books of fiction, texts, biographies and what not. There to help us find What We Want and collect fines for over-due books is M1's. Frances L. Spain, chief librarian. Assisting her are Mrs. Sara P. Bird, lV1rs. Mai R. Johnson, Miss S u s i e McKeoWn, Miss Catherine Slaughter, bliss Gladys Smith, Miss Nona VVatson, and Miss Mildred J. Roberts.

W1 THR LUMNAE SSCDCIATIQ The purpose of the Wiiithrop Alumnae Association is the advance- ment of all educational interests, the promotion of the Welfare of VVinthrop College and the establishment of a mutually beneficial relationship between the college and its alumnae. X I AN The ofhcers of the association are Rosa B. Strait Guess QlV1rs. A. PQ, president, Lucile Meltoii VVallace fMrs. W. RQ, first vice-president, Ruth Keever, second vice-president, Mildred I-Iuggins, third vice-presi- dent, Ethel Owings, recording secretary, and Ruth M. Williams, executive secretary and treasurer. Its membership numbers 11,797 graduates and certificate students- 9,974 have received degrees and 1,823 have received certihcates. Included in the membership of the Association also is a large number of non- graduates, which brings the total number to more than 15,000. I7 GUESS VVILLIAMS
