ACTIVITIES CONSUMING TASK FOR STAFF Striving to tell the story of Winterville High School, past and present, became the major objective for the SEARCHLIGHT staff. Plans for the 1970 edition were begun in the spring with the selection of the new staff. Soliciting ads from businesses around WinterviUe to provide funds for the 1970 annual began in August. Before the annual went to press, the staff worked diligently on the layouts and copy. With the theme, “Up, Up , and Away”, the staff introduced new ideas and spot color. Then Decem- ber 5th, the deadline, arrived, and the staff could only await the return of the 1970 SEARCHLIGHT. 21
