Distributive Education Learns Marketing Becky McLeish and Chris Heilbock were selected D.E. Students of the year as Distributive Education finished its third year of activity at W.H.S. Under the direction of Mr. Mark Stul- ler, D.E. combines work and study to learn retailing skills such as merchan- dising, marketing, management and service operations. The students are placed on retailing jobs in the area to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom. One of the ln School was the Christmas DE- licious Shop which sold Christmas candy and decorations. Members hon- ored their employers at the Spring Appreciation Banquet. The officers were Marlena Spurrier, presidentg Reg- ina Powell, vice presidentg Becky McLeish, secretaryg Debbie Kirkland, treasurer: and Rita France, recorder.

The 1977 version of the W.H.S. Chorus under the irst year directorship of Mr. Michael Kotora aunched an ambitious program of singing and fund- aising. The year saw the chorus selling sponges to 'uy new robes, the creation of a chamber choir rhich performed music of greater difficulty, and rips to local nursing homes to entertain the elderly. tll this was added to the regular choral concerts at ,hristmas and Spring, a special concert at the Mall uring Christmas, a program for the Masonic Lodge nd the traditional music at Baccalaureate and Grad- ation. Many hours were spent around the piano on 'the stage preparing for their busy schedule of con- 6115. The club actively promotes charity projects and educational programs related to homemaking. Each month the club held a special theme meeting and raised money for projects and equipment for the Home Ec. Room. Miss Elaine Soukup, in her 10th year as advisor, also sponsored various recreational and community pro- jects for the club. Rhonda Tice served as president: Darlene DiPietro, vice presidentg Flora Lash, secre- taryg and Shari Grimes, treasurer. Mrs. Mowry served as Chapter Mother.
