Class Prophecy As all fypical American boys and girls, we were graduafed from our Alma Mafer. Our nekf sfep was ouf info fhe world wifh fhe greaf fufure 'lying ahead of us. Affer several years have passed, we fake a day fo visif fhe class of 47 of Winfersville. We leff word wifh fhe hofel desk clerk, Johnny Bains, fhaf we would expecf fo be called early fha nexf morning. The hofel manager. Bill Dillon. awoke us early and kindly and fold us we owed him money for our lasf sfay. A queer laugh was heard. We discovered fhaf if was fhe porfer, Bill Gegas, for our luggage. We fook an elevafor, operafed by Philip Cochran, down fo fhe sfreef. To our amazemenf we found Bill Glikes in fhe lobby acfing as a bell hop. He hailed a Taxi driven by Pai Spellacy for us. We direcfed her fo fake us fo The airporf. From fhe Taxi radio we hear fhe lovely enchanfic voice of Fern Loy singing This lsn'f Someday This is Always, broadcasfing from Sfafion T. l. M. E. The nexf program was news commenfalor, Dan Gump, pinch-hiffing for Bob Kern, bringing us fhe world news, By fhis fime we had arrived af fhe airporf and found fhaf we had fo waif for our plane. We decided fo ge? a snack fo eaf. We found Beffy Zadanski, a waifress. ready fo assisf us. We received weafher informafion from Charles Brown. Sfepping info lhe plane we found Arlene Querry, as pilof ,wifh Rae Gruber, as our co-pilof. We spenf fhe affernoon conversing wifh Dorofhy Yashko, who was refurning from a frip ro Washingfon, where she had been visifing presidenf Harold Sfead, and his assisfanf secrefary, Doro- fhy Taylor. Af noon we were served lunch by fhe airline hosfess. Josephine Swiclrard. We received a copy of fhe Sfeubenville Herald-Sfar from Bob Williams, one of fhe passengers, who fold us he was going fo visif his wealfhy sisfer, Alda Williams, in New York. Sho had become famous as a movie slar here. He had been in Sfeubenville inferviewing Pai Pefkovich, Sfeve Kovach,and ofhers. Looking fhrough fhe news we discovered many familiar names of The class of 47 . Here are some arficles we found in fhe personals. Miss Donna Blake, world famous maioreffe, leading lhe world's largesf band. Paul Weaver daredevil of fhe aufos giving a hearf fearing performance scheduled wifh fhe Bill Wlianger and Leroy Sfewarf circus. Guesf soloisf af fhe opening of fhe Mefropolifan Opera House will be Vernadyne Williams, famous vocalist The orchesfra wi.l be under fhe direcfion of Tom Bowman. Glenn Slaven is now professor af fhe Universify of Columbus. Mr. and Mrs. Roberf Keppen, of Chicago are visifing relafives in Winfcrsville. Mrs. Keppen is remembered as fhe former Janef Marquis. Vie now lay our newspaper aside, deciding lo have a refreshing drink. As we alighfed from The plane we enfered a modern resfauranf, owned by Don Lawrence. We ordered a glass of milk which we noficed had been imporfed from fhe George E.f farm. Boarding fhe plane we find a new passenger, Ensign Ralph Williams of The Navy. We heard from him fhaf Wilmer Hibbifs is a Capfain and George Rafzenberger has become a greaf scienfisf. George Moray is wrifing a novel, Brain fo Lend. Glancing af fhe prinf we find fha? Helen Kolopailo is now a senior feacher. Howard Gould sfarfing a small business of radio repair and his helper is Bob Blackburgn. Lula Clara George is Winferville's librarian. Rufh George and Roberfa Palmer are working in fhe Ohio Valley hospifal. A new dress shop is being opened by Aleda Moafs. Faye Hoobler has iusf been appoinfed edifor of fhe Piffsburgh Press and fhe sociefy edifor is Carol Scoff. A picfure of Marceline Jarreff, modeling a magnificenf fur coaf is seen on fhe sociefy page. During our fcur of Aflanfic Cify, we wondered info Granf's sfore and discovered lna Sfarr as manager and Margaref Rozsa as assisfanf manager. As we emerged ouf in fhe sfreef, we saw in brighf lighfs fhe name of Janice Daugherfy in fhe newesf producfion wifh Frances Morfon and Davena Muir as co-sfars. Lafe in fhe affernoon we wenf fo a well known fea room owned by Miss Arlene Mack. Seafed af various fables were famous celebrifies, Helen Peveich, Mamie Brake, and Ella Drazich. We sfopped fo chaf wifh Them and we found ouf yfhaf Mele Voivodich had become presidenf of a huge shipping firm. Dick Medley is head drum maior of fhe Nofre Dame Universify Band. On our way back from fhe fea room, we chanced fo meef anofher of our classmafes, Jane Bell, now a feacher of Home Economics in California High School. As l refurned home, l knew I could reporf fhaf all fhe pupils of fhe class of 47 are all doing well.
