GERALD RIDOUT and LARRY TRAVIS have just succeeded in leveling New York City. They have been competing scientists for twenty years. LOREN PARKER is manager of the Moon Beam Beauty Shop , and his favorite customer is6JEANIE with the Light Brown nm-'. DICK JACKSON is the successful manager of the local telephone exchange. JANICE VEE CLARK is in charge of aJ.l operators. Number Plee-uzll LARRY BREEDING is now coaching girls basketball at Bev's Junior High. That's coaching, not coaxing. JANIE MACUMBER is still going to Notre Dame. Some one should tell her that itas an all-boys school. A flash has just come through! JIM FREDRIGKS is hi-way patrolman of Bell Gardens. He decided :lt's more fun to chase than to be chased. How about it Jim?? BETTY MORSE is in Indiana learning how to fly. Her instructor is Donny Loomis. Does the name ring a bell, Betty? WAYNE CURNES is city water coumnisioner. He is going to ees that there is more water put in the chlorine. If you're looking for a parrot that can't talk, go to JANIS BURD'S pet shop. The parrots never learned to talk because they've never had a chance to get a word in edgewise. BESSIE McCARTHY is running a lonely hearts club. Her most steady customer is LARRY THORPE. GARY HOWELL is training animals. He is widely known for his horn blowing seals. ROBERT MOUNT has replaced Arthur Godfrey on his talent scout show. That red hair sure shows up good on color T. VL His latest discovery is MARGE GROUT. RUTH CROFT was discovered by a Hollywood talent scout while working in the dime store in Winterset. She is now in Hollywood-----Still working in a. dime store. DUANE GUNTER has replaced Arthur Murray in his dance studio. Duane always was light on his feet. KENNY McNICHOLS is head surgeon at the Memorial Hospital. He always was quite a cut-up.. MARY JANE DETRICK is now in charge of the Nurses' Aids, at the hospital. MARLENE WORM is playing opposite Captain Video of the Video Rangers. PAT TRAVIS also is on the show. She blows the smoke from the tails of the rocket ships. PAUL FLETCHER is now running F'1etcher's Portrait Shop. BEV. McADOW is his assistant-. They seem to enjoy working in the dark room. IRENE CLARKSON is working in an office specializing in dictaphones- No, that-'s phoning Dick. SHERI WYATT, SHARON WILKINSON , LOUISE MURPHY, and EVELYN MITCHELI. are on the assembly line :Ln a pea factory. Wyatt shells then, Murphy sorts them, and Mitchell puts them in the cans. Wilkinson stands over them with a whip to see that they keep busy. SUZANNE NULL is a leading socialite in New Iork City. Her latest cbmpetitor is MARY KA! CUNNINGHAM. At the latest count Mary Kay was ahead by one mink.

On September 5, 1950, with a frightened look upon their faces, 92 freshmen entered the doors of W.H.S. Their official motto was, and still is, Life is 101 what you make it, and 901 how you take it.n They worked and they worked hard, and proved themselves able to keep up with the upper classmen. They went 'all outn for football, basketball, chorus, band, dramatics, not forgetting to try for the honor roll. In the school year of '51--52 there were 82 sophmores back once more to the halls of W.H.S. They were now one step higher on the ladder toward graduation. As records show, their class participated and did well in extra curricular activities. Two boys and two girls were on the Hi-Y and YLTeen cabinet, and four girls were members of the F.H.A. cabinet They again showed up in great numbers in band, chorus, dramatics, and athletics. In the school year of '52--53, 78 students entered W.H.S. as juniors They were finally upper- classmsn, but they tried not to be snobbish about it. The Junior Class Play that year was WMen Are Like Street Cars.n 16 juniors had speaking parts, and many more helped backstage. During this year 20 juniors participated in band, including 5 twirlers, and 20 sang in the chorus There were L boys in WWU club, L out for track, L boys participating in basketball, and 6 in foot- ball. There were also 6 girls who showed outstanding ability in girls' basketball. Their class entertained the seniors at the banquet and prom, in May, and they were all looking forward to being entertained themselves, the next spring. The junior year came hilariously to an end, and the summer passed, with each day going, too,too, fasts In September, 1953, 68 students entered W.H.S. to reign as the mighty Seniors, and to be rulers of the fabulous 'Lower Ha11.' 5 senior boys were on the varsity football squad, lu played in the band, 3 girls played on the girls' basketball team, 5 boys played basketball, and 7 sang in the chorus. Homecoming 1953 was on October 16, and Mary Louise Bane reigned as their queen. Several senior girls who were interested in teaching, attended the Prospective Teacher's Day, at Drake University, early in the fall. The All-School Play that year was HI Love Lucy,n starring Jean Ann Lull as the active red-headed Lucy. The class of 1951. has proved itself to rank very superior among the classes graduating from WJ-I. JOE HAMAND and GLENN !4cCONNELEE are now singing with DON COFF'MAN'S Rag Time Band. They are opening now at ED WALTZ'S Night Club. DAWN I-IEADLUND, DOROTHY CLEMENTS, and JACKIE BLAHD are in the chorus line at the Cococabana. MARVIN FAIRHOLM is their dance instructor. NORMA WIGHT, and MARIAN VELTMAN are running a taxi-cab service between Ames and Cedar Falls. Seems as though they never get any where, for arguing which way to go. LOLA COX is running a bakery. She bakes the cakes and PEGGY EICHNER keeps the customers from slamming the door. IMOGENE VLIEGER and PHYLLIS MOORE are making the alphabets for alphabet soup. Don't get your P's and Q's mixed up girls. DIANE DUNCAN and KAY WHITE are running a mechanics school. They are teaching the students how to assemble a kiddie car. JACK STEVENS is training fleas for ED MORRISSEPS three ring flea circus. Don't let them get the best of you Jack. BEULAH BEEDLE is running a sea side resort. VERYL RUGGLES is chief handy IBD.
