CLASS MEMORIES As we come to the end of our trarl 1n Wmters Hlgh School, we stop to look back over some of the footprmts we have left dur1ng these past four years When we entered as t1m1d llttle papooses there were 45 of us However w got a lxttle blt cocky when we became better orgamzed Our offxcers for the followmg vear we e Presldent John Brmck Secretary Barbara Graf Treasurer Mack Cody Sergeant at Arms, Noboru Takahashm, and Drck Snow, Student Counc1l Representatlve We were very proud to take fxrst place ln the Youth Day Parade w1th our float, Buds of Today Blooms of Tomorrow ' We also entered the float m the Dlxon May Day Parade and won flrst prlze of S25 The annual Freshmen Dance was a v1ce versa called the Sock Hop grven on November 30 It was a b1g success Our sweetheart attendant was Nelda Burket In 1953 we came back as 47 confrdent Sophomores We started the year off rrght by elect1ng offlcers that were capable of carry1ng out themr respons1b1l1t1es Presldent Dee Harper Vlce Presldent, John Lopez Secretary Mary Lou Kldder Treasurer, Barbara Stlles and Sergeant at Arms John Gonzales The Sophomore Hop was glven on December 5 We are very proud that 9 of our boys were on the B Squad of the football team whxch won the Y C A L Champlonshlp Also one of he boys, Ray Johnson was on the Varslty Th1s year our float, Blue Moon won Znd prlze 1n the Youth Day Parade Bemg st1ll powerful and at long last upper classmen we came lnto thls year wrth an enrollment of 49 We gave a Halloween Dance and also the annual Turkey Trot where we gave away a llve turkey In December we were very exclted when we recewed our class rmgs As Jumors we had charge of the concesslons gave our Jumor Prom, on March 26 whlch we had been look1ng forward to for three years The theme was Ebb T1de ' Our representatlve for Glrls' State was Kay Sparks and for Boys' State was Ray Johnson We were very proud to come back as mighty Senlors Our class was shghtly smaller as we had only 42 members Offlcers were John Lopez Pres ldent Ted Ve1u, V1ce Pres1dent, Louxs Invernon, Secretary Bob Ishp Treasurer and Leo Blaylock Sergeant at Arms Th1s year our Youth Day Float was the Sweetheart Float ' It was very beautlful Early rn the year we started makrng preparahons for our announcements for graduatron We dec1ded to graduate 1n Navy Blue caps and gowns Now after four years we are glad to be leavmg to step mto a new l1fe on our own Yet we are a httle sad to be leavmg because we have spent four years here and have had a lot of ups and downs We especxally want to thank our advzsors, Mrs Irvme Mr Adams, Mrs Spafford Mrs Clmton and Mr Chaboya for their patience and understandmg 15 I ' I e v I ' ' 1 e 1 ' ' l I 9 9 I ! . , . , . . - H . . , .
