THE RIVERSIDE 23 3000000909000OOOOOOOOIOOOOOOI: 2 LOCAL HAPPENINGSS Q o 000.00IOOOIOOIOOOOOOOOOOOOOIOO The Annual Freshman Reception given by the Sophomore class, was held in the Union Hall, September 20, 1927. The entertainment being fur- nished by the Freshman class. It was followed by games ard dancing. A public supper at the Methodist vestry was served on October 5, 1927, by the members of the Senior class. The supper was well attended and a good sum realized. The Junior class gave a box social at the Methodist vestry, Friday eve- ning, February 10th, 1928. Mr. LeRoy Wadleigh acted as auctioneer. The boxes sold for a good sum and it was a very enjoyable affair. THE BASKETBALL BANQUET At the close of the basketball sea- son a banquet was given to the Boys' and Girls' Basketball teams at the Methodist vestry. A delicious supper of oyster stew, pickles and cakes was served. The committee in charge of the supper was, Mrs. Merrill, Mrs. Page, Irene Edmonds, Ella Mae Ames, Marion Young, Maxine Bicknell, Edith Bolan, Edwina Hackett, Vera Young. Mr. Nickerson acted as' toast- master. Speeches on athletics were made by Rev. F. W. Brooks, Mr. Carleton Young, Supt. C. W. Dickey, Captain of B. B. team Thomas Mc- Dermott, Manager of B. B. team Lucena McDermott, and Roderick Clark, Pres. of Students' Council. The class parts were announced and officers for the teams for the com- ing year. T--l--- E. P.
