Dream Girl Pageant Close your eyes and make a wish, the WHHS Dream Girls shine as bright as the stars. This year’s Dream Girl Pageant, sponsored by FHA, was a spectacle of beauty, talent, and personality. Each year, girls from the Junior Class are nominated by clubs or homerooms to compete for the title of Dream Girl. The Dream Girl and the runners-up plan and coordinate the pageant for the following year. Selected as Dream Girl this year was Mia Marotti, followed by Amy Hart, Vicki Welch, Leslie Lasseter, and Cari Flanagan. Pam Gardner won the talent division, and both Nicole Bar-ranco and Leslie Lasseter were named as Miss Congeniality. Dream Girl: Mia Marotti Runners-up: 1st, Amy Hart: 2nd, Vicki Welch; 3rd, Leslie Lasseter; 4th, Cari Flanagan. Talent winner: Pam Gardner; Miss Congeniality: Nicole Bar-ranco and Leslie Lasseter. 26 Student Life

The students gave speeches in front of the American Legion before being chosen for this convention. As participants, students were active in debates, lectures, voting, and the writing of bills. All gained a better understanding of the government as well as finding out more about themselves. Their experiences are memorable ones which have made WHHS very proud. Student Life 27
