ttReading M aketh the F ull Man,, SIR FRANCIS BACON With a collection of over ten thousand volumes, the library is an effec- tive and attractive place for reading and research. A wide selection of periodical literature, filmstrips, and records provide further material for background enrichment in every area of the curriculum. One unique sewice offered students is the ftrovision for checking out magazines for use at home and in the classroom. Films, both free and rental, are available by arrangement with Mrs. Lee, who has charge of audiovisual materials. Mrs. Soverns and Mrs. Graham are in charge of printed materials, in- cluding not only the books, periodicals, and newspapers, but also numerous pamphlets and brochures.

Mr. Black introduces his students to a new phase of American History. nations, climates, and environments. American Institutions offers the senior a com- posite study of economics, Americanism versus com- munism, political science, and American problems to better prepare him for the world after .graduation. This year, to better facilitate the large number of seniors, the social studies department gained a new 187-seat lecture hall in the new building. With this new room the students can receive a better insight of social studies through audio-visual aids and a more comfortable atmosphere. Something interesting, Mr. Kaufman?
