Worth Success is the biggest pay check we will ever receive. In coming to WSSU, we con- sidered ourselves on the job. It's a full time job and how we spend our time at work will determine the spirit of success. As we go about our daily lives, whether it is here at WSSU or some other fine in- stitution, we must not forget our purpose for being students. We are here to learn, and all other things come second. Had our purpose been to have a four year party, then we would have had to pay a cover charge - not tuition. To the graduating class of 1987, may you always live in the spirit of success! As you begin to turn through the pages ofthis year- book, you will notice a few changes. In an attempt to bet- ter serve you, the yearbook staff took a good idea and made it better. This book is surrounded by a story, we as students and the workplace - Winston-Salem State Univer- sity. My first words of thanks are to Almighty God who gave me strength to face each new day. Next, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all those special people who took part in this yearbook and to the members ofthe yearbook staff who took great pains in help- ing mold this idea into what you will see throughout the pages of this year's edition of THE RAM. In addition, extra special thanks go to Mr. Beaufort O. Bailey, Ms. Cassandra V. Douglas, Mr. J. B. Edwards, and Ms. JoAnn Thomas who shared their knowledge and expertise.
