For us, we were pleased to know that the mission of the university would not change and that the new Chancellor was willing to work closely with students. We pledged him our support. The leader of our class that year was Kenny Riddick, and Ms. Denise Norwood was our class queen. We were honored to have Oletha Coulter, Lisa Dickens, Bichson Stevenson and Karen Thompson selected to Who's Who Among American College Stu- dents. Our Junior year was also full of excitement, especially the fun filled week of Homecoming. The Junior Class was named the most spirited class at the university. Also, the WSSU Student Govern- ment Association was invaded by members of our class. Michael Clark, Cassandra Evans and Re- gina Mack made their presence felt. Unfortunately, the year ended on a sad note. Diane Robinson, a member of our class, died. She is gone but not forgotten. As seniors, most of us were prepared to meet the challenges in the world of work. WSSU had prepared us well. Robert Mack, our class president, kept us in- formed about our obligations as seniors - apply for graduation, send out invitations, take class pictures, leave the university a gift and participate in the commencement exercise. Again, we had several members from our class who were selected to Who's Who Among American College Students. They were Renee Williams, Starlae Robin- son, Regina Drakeford, Lula Brunson, Yvonne Brown and Yolanda Jones. There were other members from our class who led the Student Government Associa- tion. Michael Clark was its president and Edward Singleton, the vice-president. Ms. Tanya Ed- wards was Miss WSSU. The Senior Class queen was Regina Drakeford. Four glorious years have past and we have many pleasant memories ofWSSU. We will always have love in our hearts for our university. As we part from the university family, the Class of '87 leaves these words of wisdom: The Past is gone, Remember it. The Present is here, Deal with it. The Future is to come, Prepare for it. 27
