Many students feel that the small class sizes help them adjust to the challenge of college academics. Our small size creates a friendly community environment and it is easy to get to know fellow students and instructors. WSSU considers a well-rounded social, cultural and person- al life just as important as academics. There are 88 student organizations including honor societies, professional associa- tions, religious groups, hobby and sports clubs, and fraternities and sororities. The Rams also field highly competitive teams in foot- ball, wrestling, women's basketball, volleyball, tennis, and track. WSSU's intramural program enables you to compete against fellow students in basketball, volleyball, track and field, touch football and bowling. The University is an active member of the National Colle- giate Athletic Association CNCAAl, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association QCIAAJ, and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics fNAlAl. Nationally famous lecturers, popular performers and re- nowned art exhibits are brought to the University through the Lyceum Cultural Events Series.
