foreword Of all the situations to which college students are asked to respond, the challenge of success is by far the most exacting. If we can successfully solve the enigmas of the future, there are indeed, as our theme states, many Worlds to Conquerf, These worlds may range from the immediate goal of ggaduation to the ever-present challenge of life itsel . Here, at Winston-Salem State, we have become prepared through intensified effort and study to face the problems of tomorrow. For some, the world may be to fight and sweat in the swamps of a far-off country defending what we believe is right. For others, the duty may be to inquire and tread into the horizons of whatever is still unknown. Still others may have the task of going through the world as self-appointed ambassa- dors of good will to try to persuade others that friendship is better than power, that justice should be tempered with mercy, that happiness excels wealth, and that love is greater than charity. Whatever may be our world to conquer, we know that we have been adequately prepared at Winston-Salem State. So, as Seniors, we have tried to preserve, through the Red and White, some of the feeling that has accompanied life here at Winston-Salem State. We have endeavored to portray the aca- demic, social, and cultural life of the college in order that we may be forever reminded of the preparation we have received here, lest we forget oh, lest we forget.
