The Jackets stung Haleyville with a 27 to 173 loss before a capacity crowd at Double Springs. The Lions were unable to sche- dule a band game for this week and will be idle. They have added Lynn to the schedule for the band game on November 13th. Double Springs will go to Meek Friday night in Search of their third victory of the 1953 season. The Jackets completely outclass- ed Haleyville as thy ran up 306 yards rushing to 131 for Haleyvilie. scoring in each quarter. Haleyf ville's scores came in the second and fourth quarters. A fine Double Springs line made it possible for Jacket backs to rack up the yardage when needed. O. B. Rowe got away on gallopz of 45 and 10 yards. Tom Jeff Hendrson, who many thought was one of the best ball playrs on the field because of his fine defensive as well as offen- sive play. got away on runs of ll, 18, 27 and 30 yards. Outplaying the visitors in every department, the Yellow Jackets scored twice in the first harf on plays that started on the one and five. The third tally, in the second half, came on Snoddyfs 25-yard pass to Lovett. A feature of the Double Springs victory was Godsey's punting. He kicked out on the one in the second FIRST T. D. FOR.
