Charger gymnasts along with others in North East will be able to compete in Uni- versity Interscholastic League (UIL) com- petition, beginning with the 1980-81 season, said Ms. Marlene Summers, gymnastics coach. Now and through next year the sport will not be UIL affiliated, she added. Membership will give the team a boost, she indicated. Being UIL affiliated will help both the team morale and the finan- cial situation, she added. Many of the gymnastics team ' s expenditures will be provided by UIL funds, she continued. These funds will pay for the team uniform, transportation and equipment, she said.
