The officers elected were Raymond Thomas, Francis Cassidy, Jean Shorey and Virginia Shirley. Besides these officers there Cl-A55 COLORS! was our class advisor, Miss Grindall, who has remained our advisor ever Navy Blue and While since. Our proiects that were begun and completed were a Freshman Cl-A55 MOTTOI We Go Unafraid social and a booth at the Razzle Dazzle. Our Sophomore year started off with the choosing of our class of- ficers, Francis Pomerleau, Francis Cassidy, Norma Cowan, and Lor- raine Dostie. Another social was held. This was a hobo one! Filling Christmas boxes for the needy took much of our holiday time, but it proved worthwhile and we enioyed doing it. This year we obtained the name of the noisiest class in the school. Did we really live up to it? What a scramble in our Junior Year! Officers, class rings and money-making projects. The officers included Francis Cassidy, Norma Cowan and Joyce Tracy. The selection of the oval-shaped class-ring QFFI ER caused a great deal of discussion from others, but we're all ha C S PPY PRESIDENT now. Socials, Student Government meetings, Christmas boxes, athletic Roben Ngdequ events and plays took up our spare time. The winner of the American VlCE-PRESlDE,NT History medal was Alfred Poulin. Stanley Mathieu SECRETARY At last, the long-waited-for Senior year came. We came in with Gewvlsglzscaagklock a band and we're still banging! Robert Nadeau, Stanley Mathieu, Joyce Tracy Gertrude Overlock, and Joyce Tracy were the class officers. Plan- ning for the yearbook, athletic events, socials, plays, Student Government activities, the governor of which is Reginald Audet, have given us pleasure as well as long hours of hard work. Now as the trees are in bloom and June is here, our high school days end. km I J J, u A Y r 1,4 J Xb I 4, fm Y I A r s, J A I xx . Skowhegan The .layvees had an unsuccessful season as far Cony as the won and lost column is concerned . Most of Madison the team was inexperienced and there were many Gardiner Freshmen in the line-up. However, there was Fairfield considerable individual improvement and it is Waterville hoped that some of these boys will be playing Brunswick varsity ball in another year or two. Bob Cunning- Ellsworth ham was the top scorer for the team and in many Gardiner games was the outstanding player on the floor. Cony Arthel Shank played a steady game throughout Skowhegan and improved on his scoring the last few games. Fairfield Jimmy Knight was the ball-handler of the team. The Junior High basketball season closed with a record of Four wins and four losses: a lack of reserve strength seemed to tell, as many of the losses were registered in the final quarter. The starting five were Danny Roy, the six-foot center, who could be a great asset to next year's Jayvees: Bunny Bellows, a lot of basketball for his size, as a guard: Tupper, LaChance, and Erskine, who were great off the boards of both baskets. Little Paquet was the real aggressive member ofthe team, with Zelenkewicha close second. On the whole, the entire squad showed great promise and are sure to be heard from at a later date. f f This page is sponsored by ' MAURICE FINESON Box 277 Bangor, Me. Mrs. Mosse and Mrs. Gilman were presented corsages. MMA SM Sift 42, On the evening of January 29 Uncle Fred Flits By, a three-act comedy, was presented by the Junior and Senior classes under the direction of Miss Delores Cham- berland . When word comes that Uncle Fred has left his country place and is headed for town, the family blenches to the core--especially poor Pongo. Uncle Fred. gets his greatest pleasure from dragging his reluctant, teen-age nephew Pongo through one bewildering scrape after another. He even goes to the length of introducing Pongo to the most beautiful girl he had ever seen as a deaf veterinarian come to pare the claws of a pet parrot! lt's no wonder the unfortunate Pongo regards Uncle Fred as he would a sack of dynamite he found lighting up in his presence--and well he should! This time Uncle Fred insists on taking Pongo to Mitching Hill and, since it started to rain, calmly pushes into the nearest home and take overl It's there they meet this beautiful girl, and Pongo is forced to pretend he is a veterinarian. This is extremely difficult, for it's love at first sight for Pongo: then when the girl's obnoxious suitor arrives, Pongo can hardly contain himself. Uncle Fred, however, happily invovles them deeper and deeper. ln shame-faced despair, Pongo wants to drag Uncle Fred away from the house and out of Mitching Hill entirely, but the beaming Uncle Fred won't budge. He even goes to the extent of having the police pick up two suspicious looking characters who happen to be the owner of the house they have entered. This looks like the final blow to Pongo's romance when he finds out that all the beautiful girl wanted was someone who was exciting . After many harrowing experiences Pongo wins Julia and departs for South America . 50 UML Elm! gdb gy Pongo Twistleton - Rene'Michaud The Crumpet. Uncle Fred . A Maid . . They have developed quite a technique in the ways of photography. Sometime during the year they willvisit the Water- ville Morning SentineI in order to observe professional photographers and their methods. Meeting once a week, they have planned and successfully executed the sale of candy and soft drinks at noon time and at basketball games. During the noon hour they supervise a game room, a dance room, a study hall, and a socker table in the gymnasium. A rotating committee each week is keeping the boys' and girls' roomsclean . The student government plans to put on an assembly every two weeks and exchange the best ones with other schools. Three cheers for the sincere effort of these students who are maintaining such interest in our schooll One of the most appreciated assemblies was a talent show, put on by the student government on January 30 and m . c . 'd by Fred Sawtelle. On February 13, they held a social which was very successful. Music was furnished by the Giroux Rhythmeers. 59 M 5 l V fs Mg, '34 9 Q NAME PEARL BARON PAULINE BARON BERNARD COWAN DAVIDSON DAUGIER DOSTIE FORTIN HOBBS HODSDON LACOMBE LANDRY LEE MASSE A.
