ANNUAL ROYALTY Cindy Whipple was chosen as Yearbook Queen for her hard work during her high school years. Cindy has dedicated her time to the school as a participant in Solo and Ensemble Festival, the operetta H.M.S. Pinafore.” the choir, and as an accompanist for several soloists. Clinton Wilkins. Yearbook King, has done a great deal of work for the school as a football and basketball manager. Clinton has been a member of Honor Society, track, journalism. F.B.L.A.. and W Club. Clinton has served as treasurer of Key Club and president of Quill and Scroll. - 3

The annual staff wishes to dedicate the 1979 Meteor to Mrs. Jill Zeiger in appreciation for the long hours she has spent with the students. Mrs. Zeiger started teaching at W.H.S. in 1975. During her five years here she has taught American Government and has also sponsored the Me-teorettes. The two colleges which she attended to receive her teacher's certificate are Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Oklahoma, and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Mrs. Zeiger is also the mother of three children and is married to Mr. Eric L. Zeiger. We. the staff of the Meteor, would like to acknowledge the inspiration given to the students of Winslow High School by Mrs. Zeiger. whose friendly personality has made her a teacher to be remembered. 2

WHS 50th YEAR The present Winslow High School, RIGHT, was built in 1928-29. The original top floor, as seen in the 1929 photo at BOTTOM, was destroyed in the disastrous fire on August 28. 1960, MIDDLE RIGHT. The top floor was rebuilt, MIDDLE LEFT, and the decorations around the top of the building were sacrificed.
