Text from Pages 1 - 200 of the 1967 volume:

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS To a cupful of luck, set in a Strong healthy frame. Add a pinch of conversation, A dash of daring, And several drops of vision. Then pour on an ounce of belief In one’s fellow man A spoonful of experience, and A jigger of good humor, All to settle with a sweet, helpful Mate of understanding, Education, and intelligent Compromise. Then bestir Oneself continually, Add an icing of common sense. Part honesty, and serve one's God, One’s Country,- and one’s family. Unknown THE METEOR Published annually by the Publications Department of Winslow High School Winslow, Arizona The 1967 Meteor is dedicated to Mr. David Conatser because of his dedication to Winslow High School in both academic and athletic activities . He is never too busy to help a struggling student with bewildering projects, whether they be in biology or history. His sponsorship of the yearbook can only be expressed in the moods and personalities that make up the 1967 Meteor. He has put many hours into it's creation. Likewise, Mr. Conatser is always present to give the aspiring athlete that extra word of encouragement that will impel him to victory. To you, Mr. Conatser, we are forever grateful for the gifts of knowledge and inspiration you have given us. Your service and dedication to Winslow High School shall never be forgotten. 2 EDUCATION ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVITIES ROYALITY ATHLETICS ADVERTISING EDUCATION BOARD OF EDUCATION Standing: MR. J. In the production of the 1967 Meteor, the stall' has put in many hours of work to give the student body a remembrance of their 1966-1967 school year. The first and most important element is the advice and council of a good advisor. Mr. David E. Conatser, sponsor of the annual for the last five years, has done much for the production of this annual though he receives little recognition. The assistant-editor, Ricky Smith, has contributed much to the production of the yearbook through his determination and ability. Our photographers, Ray Wong and Randy Soo Hoo, add much to the finished product . Being responsible for all the photography, they spend many hours in supplying the yearbook with the pictures that are necessary for its production. Ray Wong, sports editor, also deserves extra credit for the many hours of work he has done in the planning of the competitive section of the yearbook. The staff spends many hours in planning pages, drawing dummy layouts, drawing the final copy on the 3-R layout sheets, filling in all necessary information, and then checking and re-checking all work to make the Meteor what it is . All this and much more goes into the finished product . But the most valuable part is yet to be mentioned. This part is the student body of W.H.S., for every individual plays an important role. The 1967 Meteor is the individuals together forming the finished product of Winslow High School. 192
