Themes on buttons, doorknobs, or shoestrings. . .Shakespearean plays. . .term papers. . .nouns, verbs, gerunds. . .these are but a few of the things which compose Katherine McAuley's English classes. Mrs. McAulcy is a favorite of students, faculty members, and office personnel. One reason for her popularity is her wonderful sense of humor. Who but she would go cow-girl on Western Stomp Day, wear a potato sack on Twirp Day, or receive information on where Uncle Sam would like to send her as a member of the Peace Corps. Another reason for her popularity is her desire to see that each student is able to get the maximum from her class. She is willing to stay after school and help those who are behind or to talk with those who desire extra information in her field. Many hours are spent in library research as she prepares tor materials which will make her class enjoyable for each student. Many of the members of the Class of 1966 have had Katherine McAuley as their English teacher for three of their four years in high school. During this time they have come to respect her as a friend. For these reasons, we the 1966 Meteor Staff, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Katherine McAuley.
