COOPERATION Cooperation. . .will to work, conducting a meeting. . .hearing a guest speaker. . .socializing with fellow students. . .carrying through a community service project. Membership in various school organizations teaches one the importance of leadership, assistance, dependability, and service. Organized groups within the school exist for several reasons. . . service. . .honor. . .vocational information and experience. . .development of abilities. . .discussion of common interests. By becoming an active part of such a group one develops his social sense. Leadership is formed as one acts as an officer. The value of being of service is realized as one completes a project which will benefit others. Initiative and reliability are recognized as one works to compile a school publication. By meeting with others whose interests are similar to his own one finds companionship and common ground for recognizing the value of the individual. These then are aspects which compose the face of cooperation. 8

Then, and only then is he truly a member of the student body. There is a feeling of experiencing as a cheer is led. . .a dialogue is presented. . .a skit is performed. There is a satisfaction that comes when the play is over . . .the routine has been performed. . .the dance is past. . .the diploma has been received.
