(necowul To the north of Winslow lies a vast region known as the Navajo Reservation, where lives the largest Indian tribe in the United States. The culture and religion of this tribe has long attracted the interest of people in various walks of life. The culture of these people has shown them to have a definite and outstanding character. To us, the Navajo is a very real part of our own culture. We attend school with many Navajo students; our clothes, food, and social life reflect, in some ways, the culture of the Navajo. They are more than neighbors; they are our friends. Because the Navajos live and work together, they are called the Navajo Tribe. Because we have worked and shared together so much during the 1957-58 school year, we may be called the WHS Tribe. It was with this in mind that the editors chose the theme of the '58 METEOR. As you relive the 1957-58 school year at WHS, we sincerely hope that you will enjoy the events as presented through the theme and the context. Now to you, the Tribe of WHS, we present . . . NAVAJO-LAND The Editors
