1950 TIGER TALE This class of Tigers entered the halls of Winona High School the fall of 1914.6 They were the fightingest, rowdiest, and as undignified a bunch ever to pass down these sacred halls Some were shocked at them, others just tried to ignore them and their juvenile tactics There were twelve of these little cubs They were Teddy Holmberg, Lloyd Yeoman, Billy Escudero, J Paul Ludlow, Darwin Ludlow, Jack Lamb, James Gee, Charlene Ward, Aileen larcott Laverne Potterf, Grace Shirley, and Helen Galli lhat a thriving class! In the first year of high school, they did the logical things that any band of Tigers would do They elected a leader and in the year that followed Teddy Holmberg led this brazen little bunch and the junior senior banquet Cub Teddy was the most long winded of the bunch, he had to make the roaring speech at the banquet The second year in high school, the Class of 1950 was still scuffling along its merry way As for manners, they hadn't picked up many in the preceding year so they were still a very rowdy bunch. They needed a new leader, so Lloyd Yeoman was chosen Lloyd had a pretty soft job of it that year At the junior senior banquet, he was one of the guests of honor, while the rest of his band carried morsels of food to the ravenous bunch gathered there The third year these little cubs were more or less calmed down They were deeorous and polite, but still there was room for improvement They again elected a new leader Jack Lamb was 14 99 through the freshman initiation, the Y. W. C. A. progressive dinner,
