4' 6 i Barbara Vye Girls Physical Educa tion GAA Adviser Margaret E Voelker English ll and l2 Business English Personality Club Adviser William G Zllliox Head of Science De partment Chemistry Physics Usher Squad Adviser Ch ss Club Adviser Our superiors reigned with a capable hand These modern teachers of today have ad mirably kept pace with the swiftly changing times Realizing that the success of the whole school system is their responsibility they have ed obligation to society They have striven for flexibility and avoidance of the old role of the exacting disciplinarian and the methods of those days when a student eyed the teacher as a creature from another world Recognizing that education is the corner stone upon which the future of America is built these educators agree that it is in the school where the youth of America must be imbued with faith in the democratic way of life They understand that it is here that the student must be taught the obligations that go hand in hand with liberty that students must develop courage and initiative to stand up for what they know is right that patriotism can be instilled in them through the contin uous study of American traditions and that Page I4 subjects must be taught which are vital to the building of future citizenship These educators have proven their merit they were close to the student they had the faith and respect of the student They taught each boy and girl to think for himself and gave due respect to each one s decisions To an already overcrowded schedule they have willingly accepted the responsibility of a lens ure time activity program Wholesome hobbies and social events were encouraged providing the necessary outlets for surplus energy and spare time Much is expected of today s teacher much is given much is received Tribute in its fullest measure is due those who during their daily associations with the graduates of this teen age conscious l95O have given so unstintingly The guidance the supervision and direction must always be a part of us who have been the fortunate beneficiaries .r . , . - 1 xr , U , ' ', I I A I l ? , nt b S r i , . , , patiently endeavored to fulfill this self-impos- H I - I l l I
