Funderburk, a long time resident of Franklin Parish and a physician for many citizens, is a well educated man in the field of medicine, He acquired his medical degrees from many prominent colleges: Louisiana State Normal College University of Maryland New Orleans Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat College Tulane University in Tropical Diseases University of Illinois Medical College Post-Graduate work with Mayo Brothers He also served a year in World War I in the Medical Service, and later was chosen to be among those in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA. Recognizing his long years of faithful service to the citizens of Franklin Parish and his kindness toward the school students, the staff of the 1955 I-ll-Life dedicates this year's annual to Dr. Vern I.
