The Tigers started their District 3AA season by downing Coushatta. They then dropped a pair to Jones- boro-Hodge and won a couple from Many, before having their playoff hopes shattered by league leading Zwolle. Winnfield fell to the Hawks in two fairly close contests, giving Jones- boro second place. The Tigers ended their season in Ringgold, outlasting the Redskins 68-56. The Tigers finished the season with their best record in 4 years at 19-7l Boys Basketball 25

WSI-IS Dominated The Dome WINNFIELD-23 CURTIS-14. The Super- dome scoreboard said it all. With 0:00 left in the 4th quarter the Winnfield Tigers were the AA Champions of Louisiana. The Tigers had jumped out to a 20-0 lst quarter lead and never fell behind. The game, however, was anything but a blowout. The Patriots scored with 119 left in the half to start their comeback. Both teams made changes at the beginning of the 3rd quar- ter but neither could put any points on the board. Then. early in the 4-th quarter Curtis scored to cut the Tiger lead to 20-14 with 10:25 left. WSHS was able to add a field goal later on to win their first championship.
