Clubs' Who's Who Penny Bishop was nominated by FHA, where she received numerous awards and honors. Some of those were the Chapter Degree, FHA District III Home- maker Award, and the State Degree. Penny served as the local and parish President, and Parliamentarian of District Ill. At District Rally, she competed in Home Ec. I, II, and III. At WSHS Penny was also active in Anchor, FBLA, FTA, Beta, and Speech. Teresa Hatten was elected by FHA where she was a member for four years, and served as Parliamentarian for two. She received many awards and honors including Officer of the Month, Parish, District, and State Voting Delegate, and served as Parish Treasurer. Her senior year she was chosen to receive the FHA State Degree. Besides FHA, she was also active in 4-H, FBLA, French, and Speech. Sonya Ward was elected by FBLA, French, Masque 8: Gavel, and Speech Clubs. She served as FBLA President, and Vice-President of French and Masque 8a Gavel. Sonya was also ac- tive in FTA, Pep Squad, Speech, Sci- ence Club, Anchor, 4-H, Beta, and Student Council. In Speech she partici- pated in numerous Speech festivals and tournaments. She was a member of the Superior ranking Current Events Team in FBLA, and participat- ed in the FBLA Summer Leadership Camp. Sonya was a distinguished win- ner of the U.S. National Speech and Drama Awards and was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. At District Rally, So- nya competed in Civics, and English Il and IV. Clubs' Who's Who 121

Sonya Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ward was voted as an Out- standing Senior. She participated in Speech, MSLG, Beta, Anchor, FBLA, FTA, 4-H. Sonya was manager of Pep Squad for two years, Vice-President of M8zG and French, and President of FBLA. She received the Most Im- proved Speech Senior Award in M8cG, and was the recipient of the Voice of Democracy District Essay Award. So- nya was also chosen for Who's Who in Speech, MSLG, French, and FBLA. In the fall, Sonya plans to attend NLU in Geology. 120 Outstanding Senior

Clay Wheeler, President of Beta, was elected by Beta for Who's Who. Clay also participated in FBLA, 4-H, FFA, Speech, FTA, and Student Council. He received numerous hon- ors and awards including FFA Star Greenhand, Star Chapter Farmer De- gree, and Star Agri-Businessman. Clay was a member of the State Champion Parliamentary Law Team, and was a member of the FBLA Parliamentary Law Team. Clay was active on the FFA Meat Identification Team, Forest- ry Team, and was the FFA Public Speaker for 1981-82. In Speech Clay competed at the NSU Speech Tourna- ment, and acted in Tiger Follies and Cheaper by the Dozen. He repre- sented District III at FBLA Convention as Mr. FBLA. Clay competed at Dis- trict Rally in Ag. I-IV, Chemistry, and Advanced Math. 122 Clubs' Who's Who Regina Jones represented Anchor Salt Rock and French. She served as Anchor Treasurer and Salt Rock Edi- tor. Regina was also active in FBLA, Speech, Science Club, 4-H, Pep Squad, Beta, Student Council, and FTA. She was awarded one of the Top Ten Talents Awards in Speech and participated in NSU and NLU speech tournaments. She was a candidate to 4-H Short Course for two years. At 4- H Summer Camp she was a Sr. Coun- selor. In FBLA, she placed 2nd at 1983 District Convention in Extemp. Speaking. Regina competed at District 'Rally in Am. History, French II, Eng. IV, and Adv. Math. A Phil Howard was selected by FFA. While in FFA, Phil competed on the Meat Identification Team, and the Par- liamentary Law Team, which was ranked 5th in the nation. Besides FFA, Phil was also active in Speech, FBLA, FTA, Student Council, and was one of the Salt Rock photographers. Phil was a member of the FBLA Parliamen- tary Law Team which placed 2nd at 1983 District Convention.
