University of Wisconsin M.A, There is a Christian way of handling every problem, Dear Miss Polly , We, the graduating class of 1955, wish to dedicate this Magenta to you in recognition of the years you have spent as grade teacher,elementary supervisor and guidance director for the students who attend Winneconne High School. There was a time when you were a teacher in a one-room country school. Your next step up was teacher- principal in a state graded school. After several years in that position, you came to Winneconne as a teacher in the eighth grade of the Central School, During these years you were completing your work for a Bachelor's De- gree at the state college at Oshkosh, Duringthe years that we have been growing up we noticed that you were advancing also. Very quietly you be- gan attending the summer sessions at the University of Wisconsin, working toward a Master's Degree, With the granting of this degree, the local school board advanced you to the position of Elementary Supervisor. Now, as we are about to graduate, we find that you are in high school, too, as student counsellor and guidance director. We, as a class, admire and respect you for the courage you have displayed in surmounting what some call a handicap. To you it has been a challenge which you have met bravely and successfully, Your present tasks are not easy, we know, but the same qualities of sympathetic awareness of our interests and problems have made you one of our most valued friends.
