CLASS HISTORY ☆ The fall of 1940 brought 29 rather shy boys and girls to Winnebago high school. How- ever, the shyness soon disappeared after a hearty welcome by the senior initiating com- mittee. As freshmen we enjoyed parties and other activities under the supervision of Miss Jesseman. The following officers were elected for the first semester: President, Glenn An- derson; Vice President, Jack Smith; Secretary, Helen Rickert; Treasurer, Mary Bowman. Second semester officers were: President, Jack Smith; Vice President, Glenn Anderson; Secretary, Ramona Lolling; Treasurer, Anna Lou Royster. Ruby Carlson and Stanley Meyers represented the class on the Student Council. Miss Jesseman continued as our adviser for a second successful year. As sophomores we took part in many of the same activities as in the previous year. Class- officers were, for the first semester: President, Harold Bridgeland; Vice President, Russell Stringer; Secre- tary, Ramona Lolling; Treasurer, Pauline Raver, and for the second semester: President, Robert Swenson; Vice President, Mary Bowman; Secretary, Pauline Raver, Treasurer, Roger Keister. Student Council members were Anna Lou Royster and Glenn Anderson. In our junior year, guided by Miss Carlson, we elected as officers for the first semester: President, Horace Brown; Vice President, Harold Bridgeland; Secretary, Arlene Poppen; Treasurer, Robert Swenson. Ruby Carlson and Glenn Anderson served as Student Council members. Second semester officers were President: Robert Swenson; Vice Presi- dent, Stanley Meyers; Secretary, Arlene Poppen; Treasurer, James Mitchell. During this year our big project was the Junior-Senior Prom which was held at Hotel Faust in Rock- ford. Not only did we work hard, but we had lots of fun. At last we reached the close of our high school career. With Miss Scheider as our adviser we elected the following officers: President, Jack Smith; Vice President, James Mitchell; Secretary, Arlene Poppen, Treasurer, Robert Swenson. Second semester officers were: President, Jack Smith; Vice President, Stanley Meyers. Secretary, Harold Bridgeland; Treasurer, Robert Swenson. Student Council members were Mary Bowman and Glenn Anderson. Our greatest achievement as seniors was to produce this annual. Under the faithful guidance of our adviser, Miss Scheider, we feel that we have succeeded. We sincerely hope that you enjoy reading it as we have enjoyed making it. Now that we have reached our goal we wish to express sincere gratitude to the fac- ulty whose untiring efforts have made possible our graduation.
