After school is a good time to get together with friends and to watch school sports. Linda and Kelley show their spirit by attending a soccer game. The library isn't always just a place for studying, although this may not please the librarians. Denis and Tracey show you can have a good time. Eric beckons us to join him at an after school soccer game, a meeting place for friends as well as a competition field. Taking notes and doing equations in math class during Spirit Week is sometimes set aside for the antics of cheerleaders like Mark, Steve, and Donny. Growing up in high school takes all kinds of forms, but most importantly it is the shape of friendships and laughter that make us whole and grown up”. When we are holding hands, lying in the sun, watching our friends, hugging our pets, or showing our muscle, we are also building our memories and strengthening our selves for the years to come. Sometimes these moments are fleeting, ephemeral, and we wonder if they ever really happened. Sometimes the moments are lost in the race to do more and better. However, none of these precious moments is unimportant to any of us. The treasure of a small smile or a spoken word can never be taken. This year at Winnacun- net we will all savor even years from now. The studs of the summer have been let out.
