UZEOJE, It was a beautiful autumn day in 1963 when we first entered the doors of the Winkler Bible School. The surroundings were strange and unfamiliar to us. We sensed from the very beginning that this institution was different from any other we had attended previously; this was a school in which God and His Word held first place. This school was centered around Christ. We registered, and in great anticipation began to study the Word of God, which was to become very precious and dear to us. It was a similar, and yet different situation when we returned in 1964 and enrolled for our final year. We returned to the same school; yet to a new campus. Everything around us was new; except, the teachers and the Word. The Word was the same, and it again deeply impressed itself upon our hearts. As we are now preparing to leave this Institute, which we have learned to love and cherish, we are filled with deep gratitude. We are thankful to the Conference constituency for our campus, for the facilities which have made our studies more enjoyable. We are thankful to our parents, to our faculty, fellow students, to all those who have contributed in any way to our stay here. Above all, our hearts are filled with love and gratitude to our Heavenly Father “who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.” It has been our rare privilege to “sit at the feet of Jesus” and to “learn of Him.” As we take leave of Pniel, we do so with a deep awareness of our responsibility, for “we are ambassadors for Christ.” It is our prayer that we might faithfully discharge this responsibility. As representatives and stewards of our Almighty God, we strive, as Paul did “toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” May we, therefore, hold fast the form of sound words, “in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” Amie Neufeld LIFE IS SHORT Life is short, each passing moment Brings me closer to my rest. There’s no time to live for pleasure; I must work; must give my best. Only as a fleeting moment Only as a passing breath, Life is short, before we know it We are face to face with death. I must work for my Creator; I must give my life, my all I must use each passing moment For I know He soon will call. When my life on earth is over And on earth I’m laid to rest, With my Saviour up in Glory ’Twill be glorious, oh how blest. Written after the death of Mr. Waldo Wiebe, December 6, 1964.
