REV. G. D. PRIES m.a. b.th. DOCTRINE ETHICS THEOLOGY HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN THOUGHT HOMILETICS PSYCHOLOGY RELIGIOUS EDUCATION WHY I CHOOSE A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL From my experience in the Winkler Bible School and my contacts with other schools, these are the answers I have found. First is the affectionate, abiding concern for the individual. Intimate interests in present and future welfare are mutually exchanged on terms of personal friendship. Second is the pattern of school-life in which the student finds himself and discovers oppor¬ tunities to engage in activities that are contributive toward development and maturation as a Christian personality. Third is the advantage that a Christian school is central not peripheral. The Christ is the centre who by the very nature of the Gospel works in one heart at a time to lead it into wider scopes and higher horizons of Christian experience to the end that “God may be all in all.” G. D. Pries. “Sei eifrig bestrebt, vor Gott ah bewahrt dazustehen, als ein Arbeiter, der sich seiner Arbeit nicht zu schamen braucht, da er das Wort der Wahrheit richtig darbietet.” —2. Tim. 2:15 (Menge). 6

Principal’ M MR. JOHNH. GOOSSEN b.sc, b.th. As we recall the blessings of the past months spent at Bible School, our hearts are filled with gratitude to God for His goodness. All of us have received untold benefits. For the faculty, it was encouraging to see the substantial increase in the enrolment of our school. We thank the Lord that His spirit moved the hearts of our young people to avail themselves of the opportunity to study His Word. To many students Bible School has also been a place of orientation, re-evaluation and dedication. To those whose hearts were burdened with the question, “Lord what wilt thou have me to do?”, direction was received as they studied the Word and became quiet before the Lord. To them Bible School was a place of orientation. To others, in the light of the knowledge of Christ, things were seen in -their proper perspective. There were things to be counted as loss, others as gain. Tradition and heritage, time and talents were seen in a new light. But primarily, Bible School was a penuel — a trysting place — a soul-searching of motives, of direction, of intent with the inevitable resolve of the sincere soul to a renewed dedication to Christ. PAULINE EPISTLES As I recall all these mercies my prayer for you all is that you may be “rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith as ye have been taught, abound¬ ing therein with thanksgiving.” BIBLICAL GEOGRAPHY EVAN GELISM MINOjR PROPHETS ACTS I wish to commend the Yearbook Committee and all those who so faithfully worked on the production of this fine Yearbook. As we scan its pages may we recall many pleasant memories of those who “spake often one to another — those who feared the Lord and that thought upon His name.” Mai. 3:16. 5

REV. H. LENZMANN BIBLE SYNTHESIS HISTORICAL BOOKS PAULINE EPISTLES MISSIONS The eagle that soars the upper air does not worry about how it will cross the river. It is my prayer to live in close fellowship with the Lord. As we live in fellow¬ ship with Him our life is directed by Him and He does make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. These are new and elevating experiences. This is the time when we get to know Him and the power of His resurrection. As we do so and yield to Him, we are changed into His image from glory to glory as by the Spirit of the Lord. Christ was not influenced by the circumstances round about Him. His meat was to do His Father’s will. As we conform to His will and Word we are enabled to live above the circumstances. 7
