I. Thess. 5:12. Study to shew thyself approved unfo God, athat needeth not to be a sharped. Christ found time for prayer, Mark 1:35. Through it He received power for His ministry and understanding of the will of the Father. In order to receive we must ask, also to have fellowship with someone we must converse. Therefore, it is both natural and rational, that if we desire to comprehend Godâs will, and long to receive blessings from Him, we must use our only means of communication - prayer. Prayer is the breath of the soul and should this be annihilated from our school the basic characteristic would vanish. In various ways the spirit of prayer is upheld in Pniel. The blessings of our daily âMorgenandachtâ are manifold. Often a word of encouragement from Godâs Word or a short earnest prayer uttered by a teacher or student guides us throughout a trying day. Besides our daily worship period, the brethren and sisters gather weekly for one hour devoted to prayer and testiÂŹ monies. Often, the quiet moving of the Holy Spirit and the sincerity of the prayers have convicted sinful hearts to yield to Godâs pleading and make their 34 PNIEL MISSIONARIES IN INDIA Rev. and Mrs. A. A. Unriih Helen Warkentine Mildred Enns Helen Harder Margaret Willms Studeat . peace with God. At these meetings we also remember special prayer requests of the student and the Sunday School projects of the school in the surroundÂŹ ing villages. This same spirit of prayer is carried into the private boarding places and the two dormitories. The brethren as well as the sisters in the dormitories unite for an hour of prayer once a week besides their daily individual private prayer life. These meetings help to create a bond of Christian love and understanding between the students that physical activity could not achieve. In Colossians 4:3 we are encouraged to pray for Christian workers. For this purpose special mission prayer bands have been formed. Each band meets once a week and devotes all its time for one specific mission field. We cannot all be foreign missionaries but we can all be prayer warriors. THE THURSDAY-NIGHT PROGRAMS âAs every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.â 1 Peter 4:10. This has also been the aim and purpose of these programs. The students were given an opportunity to be of service to God, in proclaiming His gospel through songs, sermons, recitations and testimonies. These programs, which were open to students and visitors alike, were well attended and have certainly proved a blessing to the listeners and also to the participants. These programs were of special value to the fourth class. Each member of the class took his or her turn to organize and lead them. These programs offered the members of the fourth class an opportunity to deliver the âProbepredigt,â which is the important item of the graduate course. Although the Word of God was proclaimed in all humility, we have the assurance that it will be raised in power and will in the end bring fruit. Niverville M.B. The Sunday School Course The annual Sunday School teachersâ training course was held from November 26-29. Teachers from various districts, feeling the need to improve their teachÂŹ ing methods, assembled for instruction. The Bible School teachers discussed with them the various phases of the work. Rev. H. H. Redekop and Rev. B. B. Boldt gave a special course on child psychology and behaviour, connected with everyday problems as also problems of teaching Sunday School lessons. Mr. John Bold gave a practical demonstration for song service with a group of Public School children. Rev. Pries showed how important it is for the teacher to know the doctrines of the Bible if he wants to pass this knowledge on to others. Rev. Seibel spoke about the organization of the Sunday School and the great importance of the child. Tuesday evening two members of the third class brought their âProbe- Lektionâ to twelve Juniors according to the teaching method taught in the school. These lessons were not brought as an example, but to give the visiting teachers an opportunity for study by observation. This short course was a blessing to the school as well as to the visitors who went home feeling the importance of their work for the church and community. They received a new challenge to work more faithfully and intelligently. We are thankful that God is blessing the work of the Sunday School. Rev. D. K. Duerksen Rev. D. D. Derksen Rev. F. The songs, prayers and reading of Scripture that have been rendered here by the students of the Winkler Bible School have been appreciated, not only by patients, but also by the staff. Quite often we noticed patients with a tear in their eyes. They were not always tears of pain; no, it was God who had spoken, either through song or ScripÂŹ ture. Often a song or Godâs Word has given the staff strength or drawn us to a closer walk with God. May God bless your services to our hospital. âOthers may do a greater work. But you have your part to do; And no one in all Godâs heritage Can do it so well as you.â âKatie Reimer. In appreciation of the songs, scripture readings and prayers that the students of the Bible School have rendered durÂŹ ing the past winter we want to give you our sincerest thanks. On behalf of the many patients who have expressed to us their gratitude for this service we wish to thank you again. We are looking forward to seeing you again next year.
