Activities KINQ Allen Dyer cwbeim Kevin teonom Homecoming was the first major event of the year. The day began at 11:00 with a par- ade down main street. This was followed by the annual football qame in which the Raiders won easily over the Hays Lodgepole T-Hirds. That evening every- one turned out for the Home- coming Dance in which music was provided by The Rise . It was quite a success. After the play the Jun- ior parents served banana splits. The Juniors chose the 3 Act comedy Aaron Slick From Punkin Creek . This play takes place in Oklyhomy with Aaron Slick trying to get up enough nerve to ask Rosy Berry for her hand in marriage. The plot thickens as a couple of city slickers try to swindel the widow out of her farm. In the end Aaron finds the nerve to propose to widow Berry and also comes up with a way for her to keep hold of her farm. Peek-A-Boo!!!! Maid and Cooky! SENIOR play Now it's like this The third major event to take place during the school year was the Senior play. The seniors chose a three act comedy called Take It Easy , The mothers cooked chicken cordon- bleu, which was served before the play. The play and dinner were both a big success. Just iqnore these little interruptions. Maybe'if I hide I won't have to say my nine lines! Who asked you lady? 6 Vizcm I’rom was the fourth event of the year. The Juniors spent most of ttie week de- corating the ijyin with pur- ple, licjht blue and met.nl- ic silver streamers. I’rom niqht was fun for everyone as they danced to music provided by The Rise . Carroll Lindsey was the Superintendent during the 19H4 1999 school term. He also helped conch girl’s and hoy's track. Hr. I iridsey is originally from Texas, but has spent several years coaching and teaching in Montana. He feels- the school year wont guite well and is looking forward to more of the same next year. those foster Grants? Board Of Education HIR GARTH Carth Flint taught high school math and was the ad- visor of the freshman class. Mr. Flint has worked hard this year to famili- arize the seniors with the computers. FLINT Do you think we'll ever get 4 finished with this math? Barb will you wake up, Mr. Rogers is looking. CT1A RALPH RDGER5 Ralph Rogers taught the Jr. High and High School science classes. He spon- sored the Senior Class and National Honor Society along with organizing the annual ski trip and float trip. He commented -that he likes classes that enjoy learning, and takes plea- sure in watching kids grow into adults and friends. rils of Kelly A Kerry 6 Linda Tyler taught English, P.E., coached girls' basket- ball, sponsored the annual directed the school plays. When interviewed she stated, The Senior Class is always my favorite. Seniors create obstacles that make teaching the challenging profession that it is. Roxane Jacobson taught Home Economics and Jr. High math. She was the pep club and cheerleading sponsor along with the fHA advisor. Miss Jacobson's most memorable moment was having her chapter receive the Honor Red Rose. imt tlLMtLL 17 MR DON MAST Don Mast taught Social Studies and P.E. in the Jr. High and High School. He also was the Junior class sponsor and coached hoy's basketball, football, and track. Hr. Hast resigned at the end of the year and wanted to thank everyone for the fond memories he'll have of Winifred High School. Sophomores get involved in panel. 8 I'm sure of that weed. Oscar Cantu taught Vo-Ag. He also was the advisor of the rfA and of the seventh grade. Mr. Cantu's hard work in IT A was rewarded by Anita Stulc receiving the State farmer Degree at State Con- vention this year. MR OSCAR CANTU Barb finishes another issue of the paper. Joan Baxter taught the bus- iness classes and was the guidance counselor. She spon- sored the school paper and was the sophomore class advisor. Miss Baxter hopes that she's helped the seniors a little or inspired them to do something more. Sometimes freshmen typing students can be hard to motivate. The Raider Football Team betjan practice Auqost 13, with seventeen eager young men. The First Four games proved unsuccessFul . However, the last two were very successFul with big victories over Winnett and Hays. Ihe highlight oF the year was the Homecoming game against the Hays Lodgepole Thunderbirds. During the game Gordon Wichman made three touch- downs, Allen Dyer made three touch- downs, Mat Bolstad made three touch- downs, Stan Leonard made one touch- down and Scott Rogers recovered a fumble for a safety. Ttie Raiders ended the game with the score 67-18. The 1984-OS football season was the last eight-man season for a while as the declining enrollment has forced the Raiders to convert to six-man play in ttie 1989-86 season.
