7977 RAIDER WINIFRED HIGH SCHOOL WINIFRED, MONTANA Dedication We, the Seniors of 1971, wish to ex- press our appreciation to Mrs. Thelma Thomas by dedicating this yearbook to her. Mrs. Thomas has been our senior homeroom teacher and yearbook ad- visor. She has given us guidance and understanding and has helped make our yearbook a success. Thank you, Mrs. Thomas, for every- thing you ve done for us. Mrs. Thelma Thomas, Commercial Teacher Mrs. Thomas supervising yearbook work. Mrs. Thomas is honored with a corsage at the Jr. and Sr. Banquet. CALENDAR 1970-1971—The year of wigs, ducky shoes and maxis. Aug. 28—Freshmen are properly inducted intoH.S. Sept. 2—Seniors learn salesmanship selling ads. Sept. 5—Football season starts with a loss to Dodson. Sept. 12—Homecoming climaxed with a victory over Winnett. Oct. 8—The race began as the magazine drive started. Oct. 20—Seniors rack their brains (?) taking their PSAT tests. Nov. 6 7—Carnival was a big success. Nov. 12 13—Parents find out the truth about their kids at the parent-teacher conferences. Nov. 21—Juniors present The Antics of Andrew . Nov. 27 G 28—Winifred placed second in the Moore Invitational. Dec. 4—Our first conference basketball game was with St. Leo's. Dec. 21—The school presented its Christmas program. Dec. 22—The high school and junior high played games for the Christmas party. Jan. 28 29—Juniors and seniors visited the legislative session in Helena. Feb. 18, 19, 20—District Tourney in Lewistown. March 10—Tension was in the air during cheering elections. March 26 27—Seniors present Great Smokies and Egad, What a Cad! March 29—Mrs. Thomas feeds the seniors cake. Apr. 3—All kinds of ability is shown at Amateur Hour. Apr. 7—Six new members were installed into National Honor Society. Apr. 21—The juniors put on a nice banquet for the seniors. Apr. 24— Rose Garden was the theme of our Prom this year. Apr. 24—Chorus croaked their way through their audition at the music festival. Apr. 28—The school cleaned up the town for Earth Day. Apr. 29, 30—Two seniors and one junior attended High School Week at Bozeman. May 6--Senior skip day proved to be wet and wild. May 12—The Awards Banquet was fun. May 21—Seniors have a last walk through school. May 23—Seniors are serious at Baccalaureate. May 24—At last the seniors are turned loose at grad- uation. May 28—School's out! There were 3 boys and 7 girls that placed in District and went to Divi- sional. The Divisional Boys Track Meet was held in Lewistown and the girls in Great Falls.
