CHANGES IN WINIFRED SCHOOL This is the first school building of Winifred when the school was first built in 1914. The school building was small-only 14 by 16 feet-but it was a start for the com- munity of Winifred. This picture is of the school as it looked in 1938 just after the brick portion of the building was completed. The white wooden part of the building had been built in 1917 and 1918. Since the first graduating class in 1929, the school has grown a great deal. This need for more space is being met by the construction of eight new classrooms and a gymnasium to be completed by the fall of 1965. The wooden part will be torn down. 8
