MONTANA GIRLS’ STATE AND BOYS’ STATE These educational programs are organized by the American Legion Auxiliary. At Girls' State and Boys' State, young people learn how the local and state governments are run. They set up model governments and participate in their functions. Delegate: VANGIE STENSLIE The Winifred American Legion Post No. 120 sponsored Glenn as delegate and the auxiliary of this post sponsored Vangie as delegate and Jackie as al- ternate. The selection of these students was based on leadership, scholarship, co-operativeness, ability to speak, honesty, and citizenship. Montana Girls' State was held on the campus of Montana State College in Bozeman and Montana Boys' State was held on the campus of Western Mon- tana College at Dillon. Your high school years are some of the best years of your life. Make the most of them while you can because it will seem that those years passed by in a very, very short time when it's time for graduation. You are given an opportunity to obtain an education to prepare for a position in life. Whether or not it will be a good one de- pends on how you apply yourself to your work in high school. If you have gotten everything possible from the education pro- vided, you will be prepared to lead a full, rich, and profitable life for not only your- self, but others. VALEDICTORIAN SALUTATORIAN To you students still in high school, make the most of your four years, not only in education but in social life, too. High school is only the beginning. Here, you obtain the basis of your education which will remain with you for the rest of your life. You will learn through experiences how to act and live as young adults. You, the students in W. H.S., are what the world is depending on in the future. With a good educational background, you can be a suc- cess, so take high school seriously, but have fun too.
