SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1957, sixteen persons, Amanda Arthur, Delores Arthur, Betty Devine, Cheryll Halverson, Kathy Mendel, Darlene Reppe, Vangie Stenslie, Jackie Wilcox, J. O. Anderson, Larry Anderson, Glenn Halverson, Earle Philp, Ken Putro, Jerry Udelhoven, Pat Wherley, and Tom Wickens, boarded the Rocket of Knowledge and began their travels in the world of higher learning. Elected to guide the rocket during the first year of high school were Jerry, President; Vangie, Vice-President; and Kathy, Secretary-Treasurer. Ventures from the rocket were made by Che- ryll, Homecoming Queen Candidate; Kathy, Carnival Queen Candidate; Jackie, Carnival Queen Candidate; J. O., who participated in the High School Rodeo; and Kathy and Jackie who went to the State Music Festival in Missoula. Having survived one eventful year of adventure in our rocket, we returned to it to broaden our knowledge a little more. Plotting the course this year were Jackie, President; Tom, Vice- President; and Darlene, Secretary-Treasurer. One member, Larry Anderson, moved and Jim Andrews joined the crew. Leaving the rocket on special matters of adventure were Cheryll, Music Festival Queen and Carnival Queen Candidate; Darlene, Homecoming Queen Candidate; Vangie, Carnival Queen Candidate; Jerry, participant in the Interscholastic Track Meet, J. O., participant in the High School Rodeo; and Glenn, Gridiron King Candidate. Piloting the rocket during our junior year were Glenn, President; Pat, Vice-President; Che- ryll, Secretary; and Vangie, Treasurer. Sallying forth from the rocket on this trip were Glenn, Boys' Stater; Vangie, Girls’ Stater; Kathy, Homecoming Queen Candidate and Carnival Queen Candidate; Betty, Carnival Queen Candidate; Jackie and Kathy, co-editors of the Prairie Dog Chatter; Vangie, receiver of the M.I.E. A. Silver Key Award; Jerry, Gridiron King Candidate and participant in the Interscholastic Track Meet; and Kathy, Jerry, and Jackie, who attended High School Week. The class edited the Prairie Dog Chatter. One Delirious Night” was pre- sented by the class during the first of the year. Kathy and Vangie went to the State Music Fes- tival. The Junior Prom, with the theme Carousel, ended a full year of adventure and learn- ing. At the controls of the Rocket of Knowledge during our senior year were Glenn, President; Kathy, Vice-President; Darlene, Treasurer; and Cheryll, Secretary. Jim Andrews and Betty Devine left the rocket. Penetrating further into the unknown were J. O., participant in High School Rodeo; Glenn and Vangie, co-editors of the annual; Glenn, Gridiron King Candidate; Kathy, Homecoming Queen and Salutatorian; Jackie, Valedictorian; Vangie, Carnival Queen; Jerry, participant in the Interscholastic Track Meet; Kathy, Glenn, and Jackie, who attended High School Week; and Jackie and Kathy, who went to the State Music Festival. Spring Journey was presented by the class and a dance followed. We ended our travels in the Rocket of Knowl- edge with a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Class Motto: IN OURSELVES, OUR FUTURE LIES.
