Juniors Give Rise To outh Picture yourself back in the days of the grand and glorious Old South. As the scene opens, the crowded ballroom of Colonel Blossom's plantation home is filled with anticipation of the arrival of Governor and Mrs. Turnipseed. Charles, the governor's son, is anxious to see his sweetheart, Magnolia Blossom, who couldn't care less for Charles or the ball. All Magnolia wants to do is play cards. News of the coming Mississippi Riverboat excites the guests as a rumor concern- ing a daring Yankee gambler spreads throughout the crowd. Rhythm sets the mood as the plantation workers sar- castically imitate the Blossom's big bashn the night before. Lulu, Magnolia's marnmy, frantically questions the laborers as to the whereabouts of Maggie. Consoling Mammy, they agree to help in the search. Magnolia challenges the Yank to a round of cards, proving her ability in the game. As all good stories should end, the North comes over to the South with the final strain of '4Are You for Dixie?
