E l0R CLASS HISTURY The Senior Class of 1957 entered Winfred High School in 1953 as green and devilish Freshmen. There were seven students in our class at the beginning of ,the year. They were Bill Hueners, Lila Hyink, Diane Potter, Lynnie Williams, Bill Schaeffer, Bob Snyder, and Bert Verhey. At the end of the first six weeks, Bert Verhey left our class. At the beginning of the second semester of our Freshman year, Virgil Nipp entered our class from Beadle. Our Sophomore year started out with six students All remained except Bill Schaeffer, who went to Howard, and remained the same throughout the whole school year. Three of our students, Bill Hueners, Lila Hyink, and Diane Potter participated in the Senior Class Play that year. Our small class started their Junior year rolling with five students. Many exciting and interesting things happened this year. We had a lot of fun giving our Junior Class Play called 'Abigail Goes Haywiren. We also had fun in give- ing the Junior-Senior Banquet, although it was a lot of work. We enjoyed doing that much for our classmates who graduated that year. In the fall of 1956 school started with only four students but were isaved by the belln! Ron- nie Stratman entered our class a week after school started. Ronnie was transferred to our class from St.Agatha. It would have been a shane to have let our class decrease each year but we are graduating from Wlnfred High School with a five member class. Oh, well, the pianist who plays the march will only have to play a couple of measures so he won't get tired, I'm sure. Through' our high school education we had Mr. Fritz and Mr. Gottsleben for teachers all four years. One year we had Mrs. Keller, one year Hrs. Christensen, and our last two years we had Miss Chapin.

SENl0R CLASS PROPHECY Here it is the year 1977 and as I sit here in my tent in Africa where I am undertaking the mining of a new mineral, I am reading a letter I received from my old classmate Bill Hueners. He is racing one of the latest turbo cars at Sioux Falls now. Bill says he got his start at racing in the early sixties on the old track they had at Indianapolis with those old gasoline engines. He goes on to say he managed his first bread by hopping up an old fifty three Ford he had in his high school days. Bill received a letter from Lynnie Williams who is now farming outside of Winfred. He has about 6 sections with about half of it under cult- ivation and the rest is hay and pasture land. Bill tells me Lynnie bought the Red and White store when our old Bookkeeping teacher, Mr. Fritz, retired. I was in America about six months ago and one day as I was reading the paper I saw where Diane Potter was now in Hollywood working on her latest movie NI'll Bawl Tomorrown. I obtained a pencil and paper and wrote to her and surprisingly enough she 'still remembered her old classmate, Ronnie. She wrote me a letter and told me she married one of Hollywoods' richest, most handsome actors, Rock Hearts, and has been happily married for the last ten years. She says she received a letter from her old friend and classmate Lila Hyink, who has been happily married since a couple of years after she graduated from high school. They live in the city of Sioux Falls where her husband has under- taken the building of the Vampire State Building which, when completed, will be the largest build- eng in the world, a mile high. The past 20 years have been very good to the five eager Seniors that left Winfred High School in the spring of 1957. We certainly hope we can have a class reunion sometime in the near future. Incidentally, that new mineral I am mining is called nBuild Itn for building mile high buildings. Ronnie Stratman K X 1, X r. 0050 J?
