SCHOOL DISTRICT H IV ADVANCES The school year of 19514 S5 is a memorable one for School District H IV for it marks some of the greatest forward steps in the history of the school By further consolidation and continued building, our program has advanced to the point that our elementary grades are completely housed in their own new building with a teacher for every grade The curriculum of the high school has been in creased to include four new courses, namely, zoology, home economics Ill, funda mentals of music, and band The State Department of Education has this year authorized our high school to offer four years of agriculture starting with the 1955 S6 school term These changes came not by chance nor by accident They were rather the culmination of years of effort and labor on the part of those guiding the schools destinies and by those interested in its advancement School District R IV did not grow into th1s in a single year, but since reorganization its growth and development has remained steady work of our local schoolboard lead by its capable president, Raymond R Graves No superintendent of schools can be an better than the school board with whom he works School District R IV has now turned the corner into a new era but the advancemert must not stop here We have by these advancements only been able to better serve our distrlct as we should serve it, and the task before us is to perform that service 1n such a way that the confidence and pride of our patrons in their schools may be contlnually justified Great as has been the progress in the past, greater fields of progress be before us Let us say not what School District R IV has done, say rather what School District R IV will do, for its true greatness yet lies ahead IR C V IRVIN, SUFEHINTEN ENT Perhaps the greatest single factor in securing this advancement is the
