Senior Gfass Mis ory One day in August of 1954, Miss Aston, Mrs. McCaleb, and Mrs. Hill found in their rooms approximately 110 inquisitive, snaggle-toothed, and even a little frightened first graders. Under their guidance we attained promotion to the second grade. The second grade was memorable because Mr. Crawford made us clean our plate every day at lunch. In the third grade, Friday highlighted the week for the girls; the weekly drag through rhythms and folk dances was torture for the boys. By the fourth grade, the opposite sex had become a little more attractive. Most of our Saturday afternoons were spent at the show which was an ideal place to hold hands and swap dog tags. Fifth grade moved rather uneventfully under the guidance of Mrs. Bowling, Mrs. Fowler, and Mr. Dillard. We entered into the sixth grade with much enthusiasm and eagerly looked forward to our graduation. We got our first taste of school activities when we were allowed to elect a homecoming maid. After a wonderful year, 123 of us said good-bye to all our teachers and principal in as dignified a graduation as we were capable of. However, most of the girls became quite upset when one of our classmates appeared in heels! A new phase of our life was begun in the fall of 1960 as we entered Jr. High. We encountered such things as changing classes, ringing of bells, those terrible looking gym suits, and mid-term exams. The boys began thinking about playing sports and the girls were wishing that the new girls P. E. teacher would disappear! ■■HHHIMIUi te- The eighth, ninth, and tenth grades were filled with the excitement of cheerleader and majorette tryouts; basketball, football, and baseball games; pep rallies; homecoming; student council elections; and other school activities. During the tenth grade we discovered that we were going to have some great athletes! The eleventh grade proved to be one of our busiest and most fun-filled years. We sold magazines and gave the seniors the best banquet ever! Dur- ing the spring we realized how close we were to being seniors when we ordered our class rings which we personally designed. Through our determination and our teachers ' patience, ninety of us have become the Seniors of ' 66! So far our year has been filled with many happy events. Nearly everyone of us burst with pride when Edris and Janet walked across the field at Homecoming. We are now frantically making those last preparations for college, work, and marriage. Soon we will receive our diplomas and scatter to all parts of the earth. As we go into the future may we always remember our experiences at Winfield schools, cherish our class- mates, and go forward with the determination and faith that has been dis- played by the persons who have shaped and molded our lives thus far. BILLY JOE DAVIS has replaced Mrs. Bostick as head of the English Depart- ment. LINDA WALKER owns the largest chicken house in Fayette Co. SAM PHILLIPS was recently selected by Playboy Magazine as the Playmate of the Month . JUDY HARBIN and EDRIS WEBB are still trying to pur our Annual together and get it out on time. JOE BOX and DONALD KILGORE have become great animal lovers and now own the largest cat house in Rock City. PATSY TUCKER, JANE COUCH, ERIC FLYNN, and JERRY EARNEST work for the Deep South Dairy and are planning on going into business for themselves. GLENDA MILES is happily married. ERNEST FOSTER is now Chief of Police in Winfield with PEGGY SEXTON and KATHRINE TAYLOR as his deputies. BONITA ALDRIDGE is modeling for the Maidenform Girdle Co. FLOYD MINOR is still getting all the leftovers. BOBBY McCRAW is now the star of the Batman show with CURTIS WEBB playing as Robin, the Boy Wonder. MIRIAM BLACK recently caught larngytis and found out that other people can talk LARRY BOX is the heavy-weight boxing champion of the World. BOYD PATE tried to put more fizz in the Mountain Dews and is now serving a prison sentence. DORIS GRAY and DIANNE TRIMM are leading the Wall Street Stock Market with their peanut growing enterprise in Wayside. MIKE IVIE plays around making all the seven-foot tall girls happy and saying I ' ve got her right where I want her. NANCY COUCH is president of the N. A. A. C. P. Her chief enemy is ERNIE MOSS, who is the Grand Wizard of the KKK. HARRY LEE is still trying to graduate. RICHARD BEASLEY and ROGER HUMBER are in the car wrecking business, specializing in Chevelots. JERRY MINOR works for the Natural Gas Co. for a living and travels back  and forth to Caledonia, Miss, in his spare time. PEGGY NIX and LOLA HARBIN have reformed and are now widely known evangelists. CAROL McGRAW is an old-maid bartender in New Orleans, with a tomb- stone wrecking business as a hobby. JOHNNY SPANN is now tne top man in Carter ' s Radio Repair Shop after marrying the boss ' s daughter and working his way to the top. SHARYN CARROLL and GALE HANKS operate a multi-million dollar nudist colony in Continental Heights. REBECCA BEASLEY joined the rodeo and is now a top bronco-buster. JUDY BURKS and JIMMY HAYES got into an argument after our Jr. St. Ban- quet and have been arguing ever since. TONY BUTLER is driving a truck for Hightower Brokerage. NATHANIEL NORRIS is loyally serving our country in Viet Nam. LARRY BURLESON and RICKY BOWLING now own the Winston--Salem Tobacco Co. It was given to them after they had bought enough to pay for it. STEVE CLINTON has made a fortune demonstrating how to scuba dive. MARY ANN HAMILTON and DORIS HOLLIMAN are disc jockeys for WEZQ. JEARL WEEKS does Ban commercials on television. SHERRY ESTES is now the girls P. E. teacher at Winfield High School. CHARLES COX is still trying to play a fluta -phone in the New York Philhar- monic Orchestra. PAULETTE SEGARS was last seen shooting birds over in Mississippi. MIKE KIRKPATRICK operates the largest lonely heart s club in America. His most frequent customers are JANET WILLSON and PENNY NICHOLS. WILLIAM SMITH dyed his face black and is now President of the United States. Our present Ambassador to the Riveria is DENNIS SEXTON. BOBBY SEALS stars in his own T. V. show and calls himself Super Seals . JEANETTE BRYANT, MARGARET MILES, AND ANITA ERWIN have raised the employment rate of baby-sitters. BECKY GUIN and WANDA TRULL are either making missionary journeys or standing out in front of the Hospital making people sick. KEITH HAWKINS is a famous athlete and does Schick razor blade commer- cials on television. CURTIS CONNER has been drafted into the W. A. C. ' s. RONNIE THORNTON does Toni Commercials and also stars in the Route 129 Show. LARRY REESE and WANDA HALLMARK are the best gravediggers in this country. They specialize in night work and only dig up used graves. ROBERT NICHOLS is a kami-kiza pilot and terrorizes the country in his ' 63 Chevy. ALOMA RUPPERT has recently been promoted to head janitor at Winfield Hospital. MIKE DODD operates an opera house in Yampertown with SADIE WHEELER as his star performer. RONALD FLICK shaved his head and is now the head Agricultural teacher at Winfield High School. DORIS PERRY and BRENDA SMITH are Fayette Co. game wardens. JIMMY SPANN has taken over Dodd ' s Service Station and his business too. JAMES ED ROBERTSON is Winfield ' s first motorcycle cop. RONALD MILES still makes frequent trips to Rock City trying to recover his borrowed sweater. LYNN REED owns the largest mule-barn in town and works in a local bar- bershop in her spare time. JERRY BACCUS has organized his own band which he calls the Rock City Rocking Rock and Roll Rockets. TOMMY HARRIS has taken over Castro ' s place as Premier of Cuba. WOODY DOSS is the head of the Cuban Gestapo. REBECCA MARKHAM collects bounty on wolves in Fayette Co. TIM RADDIN is now a famous movie star hero in Hollywood where he stars as Hopp-a-long Cassidy. BOBBY PERRY is being driven crazy by ten screaming kids. SUE MILES and JANET SMITH are famous big game hunters in Africa. JOE WILSON was exiled from Alabama after graduation and has been living in Columbus, Miss, ever since. LARRY ROBINSON still sits down at the Ice-house doing nothing.
