IN MEMoRY OF JoNirA MACKEY The modern-day term rock and roll would best describe Jonita. She was a happy-go-lucky, carefree girl. However, she took a serious interest in Y-Teen, her church, acting, Rainbow, and making friends. She was best known as Johnnie by everyone. She would have liked for even her teachers to call her that. Her ambition was to be an actress, and her greatest asset was friend- liness. She thought of no one as her enemy and everyone as her friend. One would never guess that Jonita, 5'5 and slender, had heart trouble. On March 23, 1953, she passed away. A collection was taken up and a large bouquet from her friends was put on the casket. On the ribbon was Johnnie. At the funeral a section was reserved for her friends. The remainder of the money was donated to the heart fund in the name of Jonita Mackey. Even though she is no longer with us in bodily form, she is still in our memory. To all her close friends that memory will continue to hold a place in their hearts. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mackey, can well be proud of the wonderful memories they also hold, and the wonderful times they and everyone received from this dynamic personality. By LADONNA MCCARDWELL
