Joan David, Dick Stone, Jim Lowe, Jack Sipes, Mildred Long, and Principal Herbert C. Hawk attended the council conference at El Dorado in the fall. The members who are elect- ed by the homerooms discussed student affairs and extra-cur- ricular activities, sponsored school parties, and worked to promote good sportsmanship throughout the Ark Valley as Well as in Winfield High School. W ...v Pl ,L 60 Y- Teen Under the sponsorship of Misses Ruth Dellurk, Lucy Headiick, Agnes Lake, Edna Schul, -Grace Karr, and Mrs. Opal Smith, the Y-Teen girls carried out the motto, Alert for Service. Twenty-five delegates at- tended the micl-winter confer- ence at Sedan. The club as- sisted the junior high girls in organizing a Y-Teen Cllulo. 'The club sent candy and twenty-six dressed dolls to children overseas and sent card scrap books at Christ- mas to the Baca Navajo In- dian lSchool at Prewitt, New Mexico. Vaughan, the Hi-Y club whose motto in 1951-52 was To create, maintaivn, and extend thr- oughout the scrhool and com- munity the high standards. of Christian living carried out their principal objective of service to others. The chapter sent four dele- gates to the Model Legis- lature at Topeka, sponsored a boy to Sunflower Boys State, and sponsored the senior - faculty basketball game. Club contributions were 860, Would Youth Fundg 35100, school activity fund, 360, state Hi-Y office, 3100, reconstruction program at Camp Wood. The stag party was held in January.
