Viking Principal Herbert C. l-lawk Q Q To The Vikings Q My congratulations to the Class of 1947 and to the Lagondan Staff for this fine book. High School years for many persons are the most pleasant and memorable years of life. It is most fitting to preserve the memories of the yearjust passing in this little volume. It is my hope that as you go into adult life in this new world of the atomic age that you will find time now and then to recapture through this book some of the golden moments of victory, achievement, and enduring friendship that you experienced this year in this school. And as you do this, I hope sincerely that you will be able to say to yourself, I am glad it was my good fortune to have attended and graduated from Winfield High School. Good luck and best wishes to all of you as you leave us for bigger things. Yours sincerely, Herbert C. Hawk Principal Page 7
