ALMOST TWO After last yearts AA state championship win over Berkley Spring, the baseball team had hopes for their second AA state championship. But they saw their hopes come to an end after getting beat in the regionals by Wayne. After previously losing the first game of the sectionals, the team fought back hard to win and go on to the regionals. Although they didntt win first in the states, they will always be champions in our eyes.

What some thought would be a rebuilding year turned out to be a state championship season. The Generals were undefeated in football. The first two playoff games were held at Winfield. The first game was a rematch against the Poca Dots. The Gens beat them 47-14 after having beaten them 27-0 earlier. Next the Gens defeated Tucker County 12-0. In the championship game, held at Laidley Field in Charleston, we beat Buffalo Wayne 28-6. All-County and Conference tFront rowT Rob Cunningham, Teddy Kester, Steve Childers, and Danny Brock tBaCk rowT John McMorrough, Mike Prince, Scott Gibson, Brent Randolph, and Jamie Priddy tNot picturedT Dean Vaughan and John Brown Kester, Brock, Childers. Cunningham, and Vaughan also made All-State.
