MUSIQDRAMAMUSIQDRA This year the music department combined with the students interested in drama to put on the musical stageplay, The Sound ofMusic. J This play, following the life of a young Austrian woman during World War II, was produced as the 1986 Spring Musical. The play ran from April 17 to April 21 with nine performances. Students from WHS participated in all areas of the production, including acting, set construction, lighting, and accompaniment. Five students from area elementary and middle schools were also featured as the von Trapp family children. The class put on its production of Take your Medicine. They also helped with the school production of The Sound of Music. People in the class had the choice of helping in either the technical or acting side of the plays. Many helped with both set construction and acting. While not working on a play the class explored other aspects of theater including pantomime, impromptu acting, and acting out different situa- tions. tUpper righO Mark Obermeyer takes a break from painting. tRighw Scott Comer works hard building the set for The Sound of Music.
