BOYS BASKETBALL Slnce four of our last years team had graduated thmgs dldn t look too promlsmg for us thls year but we started ln the season determmed to do our best The teacher shortage stxll left us wrthout a coach and so for another year Chester Humes came to the rescue and started us on our way At ftrst we weren t too sure of ourselves and lost our flrst four games just when everyone was gettmg ready to laugh we traveled to Brum and won m the last mrnute of the game Maybe we weren t so poor after all just at thls tlme we got a new coach Mr Chambers who came to take over the Sth grade Our flrst game under the new supervlsron was at Karns Crty where although we trred hard we suffered qurte a defeat But we had to lrft ourselves from last place so w1th hard work determ matron and cooperation we took the next four games from Concord Chrcora Penn and Brum to fxmsh rn 3rd place Three members R Keasey Jllll Sxmpson and J McDermott wlll be lost through gradu atlon WVe hope that those boys left can go on from where we left off and who knows Isnt xt about txme for Wmfleld to be champxons agam?
