FFA Advisor RICHARD GROSSMAN President RICHARD CUNNINGHAM Vice President RICHARD WOOD Secretary THEODORE BAER Treasurer MELBOURNE BAUER Sentinel THOMAS HAMILTON 'Ihe Winfield Chapter of the Future Farmers of America was started in March 1940 under the supervision of Vocational Agriculture teacher Thomas Clayton Mr Clayton is non in the U S Nlavy and in his absence Mr Richard Grossman has been giving excellent service as Vocation Agriculture teacher and Chapter Advisor The promotion of Agriculture and the improvement of farm living states F F A rn a nutshell Each member is encouraged in an industrial enterprise and most members carry one or more agricultural projects the term 'Ihe 55th chapter is working on second hand farm machinery which is reconditioned and sold to farmers who are in need of machinery All members look forward to greenhand initiation which rs held every spring Qmuch to the discomfort of the Green Handsj and to the Chapter Banquet also held each spring Every year the Chapter goes to the Area Roundup held at Slippery Rock State Teachers College at which time the members of the Area get together for a day to hold games and con tests which add greatly to the enjoyment of everyone Our chapter gave a good showing there last year and we have hopes of domg the same this year YV1thout bragging ue think we have a pretty good outfit and we sincerely hope that the F F A enjoys as much success in the future as it has m the past Frrst row B Schoentag J Alderson C Zler J Mxttrca E Wetzel J Weber T Klabnlk R Beck J Macau Second row Mr Grossman A Gerner E Bauman M Bauer T Hamilton D Cunningham 1' Baer D Wood B Freehlmg A Cypher D Harvey 0 0 O C ' . . . . .
